Eating isn’t the problem, Wrong eating is.

Food is not just something we consume to fuel ourselves anymore. Food is an art, an emotion. With a variety of food items in the market, people now have access to more and more kinds of food that satisfies their cravings. Even though food is a gateway to joy, one has to be aware of determining what they are putting inside their body. It is not just the willpower that makes us overeat and gain weight. Most often it is that recurring bad habit we develop without even realizing it, like rushing out the door some mornings without breakfast, or snacking on chips in front of our favorite TV show. The next thing you know, one little bad habit can equal out to a lot of weight gain. The sad part is, we might not even realise what we are doing to our diet subconsciously. Wrong eating habits can even hurt our brain and not just our waistline. 

Understanding our bodies is something most of us tend to take very lightly. If we don’t listen to the signs and symptoms, our body health is compromised majorly in the long run. Listening to our body implies what foods we react to positively, what foods don’t make us feel the best, and trying to eliminate eating the wrong things for our bodies. Here are some signs that indicate that your body is in serious need for a change of diet:

  • Feeling Bloated
  • Unable to Sleep
  • Mood Swings
  • Feeling Hungry
  • Feeling Constipated 
  • Constant Pimples 
  • Prone to Infections 

People often confuse clean and healthy eating with a bland and tasteless eating experience. Eating healthy doesn’t mean we have to restrict to only vegetables. It is better for our health to eat a well-balanced diet and enjoy everything we like in moderation. A balanced diet generally includes a long list of food items in order to provide all the nutrients that our body needs. The principles of ‘clean eating’ are based on the advancements in current nutrition science. The approach of eating clean and living well boosts our energy levels and optimizes our health, making it more than just a diet. It is a way of life, with built-in flexibility, which means it can be adapted to fit the most of any kind of routine. The core principles of clean eating are:

  1. Take it easy on fat, salt, and sugar
  2. Eat small portions of food every 2 hours. 
  3. Stay physically active.
  4. Choose unrefined natural food over packaged refined food. 
  5. Minimise processed food as much as possible. 

The struggle is only in the beginning. Once you make clean eating a lifestyle choice, you will start to notice incredible changes in your body, which change you for the good. It is easy to not think about what we feed ourselves with throughout the day, just in order to fill up our stomachs. But we should be very well aware of the nutritional value of everything we eat. Because we cannot clean our inner bodies ourselves, our food choices do it for us. Now it depends on us whether we cleanse it with flowers or fire.
